May be only two targets are adequate to survey the progress of one country or society, efficiency and distribution. And then two statistic scopes, GDP and Per capita income, are introduced by economists in order to make them materialized. The former one is used to describe the total amount of economic activities of a country or an area, which can illustrate the condition of the country or area. The latter one indicates that how much benefits people obtained from their economic activities, which figures out the ability to make further advances of one country or area to some extent.

In China now, the increment speed of GDP is significantly higher than that for Per capita income, which is what they call "weaker demand", as well as the production capacity beyond the consuming capacity.
